Begonia Upright Double Superba Mix

Begonia ‘Upright Double Superba Mix’ produces spectacular, fully double blooms measuring 13–15 cm wide on compact plants that stay below 30 cm tall. The vibrant flowers are so full and abundant that they nearly hide the foliage beneath. A perfect choice for adding rich colour to shaded patios, windowboxes, and borders, or for filling containers throughout the garden.

Begonias are shipped as tubers and should be started indoors in late winter. If not planting immediately, store tubers in a cool, dry, and dark place until ready to plant.

Planting Information:

Start tubers indoors in late winter (August in South Africa) to encourage early growth. Use shallow trays or small pots with well-drained potting mix. Plant tubers concave side up, just below the soil surface. Keep soil slightly moist and place in a warm, bright location out of direct sunlight.

Once outdoor temperatures remain above 10°C and all risk of frost has passed, harden off and transplant outdoors into rich, organic soil in lightly shaded locations.

Tips for Growing Begonias:

• Avoid waterlogged soil – ensure containers or beds have good drainage.

• Water consistently but allow the top layer of soil to dry out slightly between watering.
