Bougainvillea ‘Yani’s Delight’ is a breathtaking evergreen bougainvillea variety admired for its soft creamy-white bracts delicately flushed and edged with rosy pink to magenta tones. The beautifully layered colouring gives this cultivar a romantic, almost watercolour appearance, making it an elegant choice for both classic and contemporary South African gardens.

Fast-growing, hardy, and exceptionally floriferous, this vigorous climber produces masses of colour through the warmer months and thrives in sunny positions. Perfect for walls, pergolas, fences, arches, large pots, and Mediterranean-style landscapes, it quickly creates a lush flowering feature with minimal maintenance once established.

Plant Care

Sun:
Full sun is essential for the best flowering performance — the more sun the plant receives, the more spectacular the flowering display.

Soil:
Prefers well-drained soil and performs best in moderately fertile beds or containers. Avoid poorly drained or constantly wet soil.

Water:
Moderate to low once established. Water regularly during establishment, then allow the soil to dry slightly between deep waterings. Slightly drier conditions often encourage heavier flowering.

Pruning:
Prune lightly after flowering flushes to maintain shape and encourage branching and repeat blooming. Can be trained as a climber, hedge, espalier, or large cascading shrub.

Top tip:
Bougainvilleas flower best when not overfed or overwatered. A sunny, slightly drier position encourages the most vibrant flowering.
