The Midknight Valencia Orange is a premium late-season citrus variety renowned for its outstanding sweetness, virtually seedless fruit and exceptionally high juice content. Producing medium to large, bright orange fruit with a smooth rind, it is widely regarded as one of the finest Valencia oranges for both fresh eating and juicing. The fruit holds exceptionally well on the tree, allowing for an extended harvest season while maintaining excellent flavour and quality.

Plant Care

Sun: Full sun is essential — provide at least 6–8 hours of direct sunlight daily for vigorous growth, flowering and fruit production.

Soil: Prefers fertile, well-drained soil enriched with compost or organic matter. Avoid poorly drained areas that can lead to root problems.

Water: Moderate — water deeply and consistently, particularly during flowering, fruit set and hot summer weather. Allow the upper layer of soil to dry slightly between waterings.

Fertiliser: Feed with a quality citrus fertiliser from spring through late summer. Regular feeding supports healthy foliage, strong growth and abundant fruiting.

Pruning: Minimal pruning is required. Remove dead, damaged or crossing branches and lightly shape the canopy after harvest if desired.

Top tip: Mulch generously around the root zone to retain moisture, improve soil health and encourage steady growth, while keeping mulch clear of the trunk.
